Splashtastic

Yesterday Kyra and I went with the student council to Deep River Water Park in Valpo. We had an awesome time and Kyra loved the water. She was such a good girl. Her favorite thing to do was go down the frog slide. She also liked the water shooting up out of the ground. We went on the lazy river and jumped waves in the wave pool. Of course, even with 50 spf, she still got even more brown. I am so glad she has her dad's skin! Needless to say, she was one tired little girl by the end of the day. Sorry about the pictures...she wouldn't look at me in any of them. Well, we are off to spend the day with Kara and Tenley. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Home Sweet Home

This past weekend we went with my family to Lake Mississinewa for camping and such. We had a great time despite a tornado warning that led us to the restroom to take cover for a few minutes! We had great weather during the day, which was good for us to try out our new boat. We also hung out at the beach and took a few bike rides. Kyra was such a good little girl. She really enjoyed her first camping experience. The words for the weekend were wet (because of the rain) and hot (because of the fire). She enjoyed playing at the beach, building sandcastles, and boating, but most of all, she enjoyed hanging out with her grandma, grandpa, mom, dad, Aunt Lys, and Justin. While we had a great time, there is nothing like a hot shower without flip flops, and a bed that isn't blown up on the ground!!

Newest addition!

We were so excited last Wednesday to welcome Kara and Jason's baby, Tenley Rae. Bart, Kyra, and I went to visit them at the hospital on Thursday. She is adorable, of course, and has lots of dark hair. Kyra was a little jealous. While I was holding Tenley, she climbed up behind me, put her arms around me and said, "My mommy." She was better when we went back on Saturday to visit. Actually, it didn't even really phase her when I was holding the baby. I am sure they will be great friends and I'm very excited to see them grow together.
