Boy or Girl??!!

Bart and I went for our ultrasound at 7:00 Monday morning (not the smartest thinking by my part since it was the weekend we switched time.)  It is always so neat/amazing to see this in action.  This sounds crazy, but I feel like their are some pictures that look a lot like Kyra's profile  There is also one that my mom thinks the baby has my toe.  The one with the baby with his/her legs crossed cracks me up.  From the time Kyra was born, she has always crossed her legs everywhere...in the carseat, in bed, sitting in her high chair, etc.  If you can't tell, I don't like calling the baby an "it."  I've been using lots of he/she...his/her expressions.  The ultrasound informed us that my due date is now August 4 instead of August 9!!!  She said either I was due earlier or the baby was going to have really long legs!!  We have had lots of guesses about the sex of the baby.  The technician put 1 picture on our CD that showed the sex of the baby.  We aren't even sure which picture it is, but it is fun to guess and to hear everyone's predictions.  So....have fun seeing what you think.  I don't know if I included the "sex" shot in these photos or not??!!

Happy Birthday Kyra!

Where has the time gone?  I can't believe my baby is 2 already!  We celebrated this weekend and had tons of fun.  She loves to be in the kitchen with me so she helped get everything ready our guests.  She has changed so much in the last year.  I was looking back at pictures from her first birthday and she looks so different.  She was much chubbier, very little hair, and so babyish.  It's aI amazing!  She had a great birthday, but is very tired.  I think I'm going to have to wake her up to go to Sunday School!

Kyra's first haircut

Tonight, Lys came over to cut my hair.  We have been wanting to trim Kyra's hair for awhile, but I have just been putting it off.  We finally did it tonight.  She did pretty good and it looks so much better!  It was getting so long and stringy.  Thanks Lys for being so patient

Snow Days!

Well, I'm about to go stir crazy!  It was nice to have a couple of days off to spend at home with Kyra, but not being able to get out is about to drive me crazy.  We did go have lunch with mom today and said bye to grandma and grandpa before they head to sunny Florida.  We have cleaned, played out in the snow, watched movies, colored, put puzzles together, read, and baked, but I'm ready to get back into our routine.  Hopefully, we will be heading back to school tomorrow so we won't have to go in June!

Winter Events

In the last couple of weeks, we have continued to stay busy.  Kyra went with me to cheer clinic and had a blast. She is playing a game in one of the pictures below.  She loves to put on her Trojan shirt and go to the games.
We also started to move her to a new bedroom.  She was still in the "nursery" that we painted with neutral colors and I wanted to do something "girly" for her.  It took forever, but we really like it.  She has been sleeping in her big girl bed for about a week and is doing great.
Tonight we decided to go outside and try to build a snowman.  While that was a fail (the snow wasn't packing), we had fun throwing snowballs and making angels.  She thought it was so funny!

Slacker!

I have been such a blogging slacker lately.  It has been so hard for me to adjust back to school life after Christmas break.  I just can't get back into my routine.  Anyway, I wanted to share some highlights from our Christmas.  The first few pictures are some that Phil took for us to use as Christmas cards and to give to mom and dad for Christmas.  These are a few of my favorites.  We were pleased with how they turned out, especially since it was so cold the day we took them.  (Thanks Phil!  We appreciate your talent!)  I didn't take many pictures during Christmas, but there are a few on here that I thought I would share.

We have had a few new changes in the last few weeks.  Bart just started a new job at Castognia's in Rensselaer.  The first week has gone well for him and we actually have their Christmas party tomorrow night.  We decided to go ahead and stay the night since we didn't get to go away over break.  We are also excited that we will be getting a new brother in law!  Justin finally proposed to Alyssa and will be getting married on 9/10/11.  We are excited about all the changes in our lives!
I think this is the one we used for our cards.

Christmas season

Kyra with our tree

Not a great family picture, but it works

Kyra adding the finishing touches (with help from dad, of course)

Not too fond of Santa this year
If that is not ornery, I don't know what it!

I think we might have our hands full....

This picture just reminds me a lot of Travis and I when we were little

Papaw and Kyra
I figured since I have been home sick the last 2 days, I would update my blog since I had some time.  The lovely flu has been making its rounds at the Leman household, but Christmas It just reminded me so much of us when we were that age.  Kyra just keeps getting more ornery every single day.  She must get that from her dad!!
We obviously went shopping the day after Thanksgiving and got some pretty good deals.  I think this year is the first year that we have driven home in the daylight, but we did leave at 4:00 in the morning so I think that was enough for the day.  It was an interesting ride home, with Carrie stuck behind a ladder and everyone holding bags on their laps since the back was already full.  We had a blast!
We also went to get our Christmas tree on Sunday, which is always fun.  This tradition has been around for my family for as long as I can remember (except last year when mom and dad decided to be scrooges).  We go find our tree, cut it down, visit the gift shop, then have hot chocolate on the way home.  I love huge, tall, fat Christmas trees.  I thought that is what we got this year, but it turned out to be a little on the short side....oh well!
Well, that's all for now.  Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!
