Updates!

Well, my time at home with the kids is winding down.  I go back to work on Wednesday.  I'm very sad to be leaving the kids, but I'm ready for the routine!   It won't be too bad since I have a 3 day week, then a 4 day week because of Fall Break.  Hopefully, that helps me ease back into the routine.  We have had fun at home, but I think Kyra is ready to be back to Patty's to play with kids.  I don't think I'm as much fun!  I posted some new pictures.  Ryder is getting such a cute personality.  He loves being talked to and I can almost always get a smile.  He is growing like crazy, finally.  Kyra and I enjoyed a day a couple of weeks ago.  We went out for lunch at Dog N Suds, went shopping for some winter attire, and ended the day watching Lion King in 3D.  We had a blast and needed some time together.  She is getting anxious for Halloween.  I'm hoping to take  her to a pumpkin patch at some point.  And, of course, we have to carve our pumpkins we picked out.  We will have lots of updates in the near future.  Stay tuned!

Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Delph

What a great day!  After all the time spent planning, decorating, shopping, stressing, it was a success.  Alyssa was a beautiful bride and the wedding was fabulous.  Justin is a great addition to the family, even though he has pretty much been a part of us since the beginning.  I feel really blessed to have a family that gets along so well and are always there for each other no matter what.  Justin has always been a great brother.  I know that he and Alyssa would do anything for us and I hope they know that we are always there for them too.  I hope they are enjoying their honeymoon, but I can't wait for them to get back. I kept picking up my phone all day to text Lys, but forgot we had strict orders not to text since it would cost so much!  I can't wait for them to begin their lives together and I'm getting pretty anxious for some Delph babies!  (I just realized I don't have any pictures of the groom...sorry Justin!)

My first official day off

Ahhh....the first day of school. Instead of preparing, planning, and heading to school today, I am enjoying my day off with the 2 kids. They both slept in until about 7:15 today. It's amazing how 7:15 is now sleeping in! We got up, had breakfast, got baths, had lunch, and just woke up from a nap. Life is good today.

Things have been going really well with a new baby and a 2 1/2 year old. Kyra loves her new baby brother. She always wants to hold him and hug and kiss him. At first she needed some extra attention and wanted help doing everything, but she is getting better now. Ryder is doing great. He is such a sleepy baby. We're working on getting him into a routine and it's been going pretty good. We're heading this afternoon to get his newborn pictures so stay tuned in the next few days for some pictures. For now, here are some fun ones from the last 2 weeks.

Ryder Bart is here!

Ryder Bart Leman
Well, the "plan" that we had for this baby did not work out at all. It all started after we got home Sunday evening after spending a HOT day at Indiana Beach.  I had a plan to finish cleaning, packing, and doing laundry after my hospital visit on Monday to prepare for a C-section on Tuesday.  Bart and I decided to head to bed at about 11:00.  I didn't feel very good and told Bart that I thought I was beginning to have contractions.  Bart thought it was just from eating tacos at the beach so we went to bed, but I didn't go to sleep.  The contractions were about 15 minutes apart so I decided I better get up and get some stuff done.  About 2:00 I started laundry and dishes and cleaning up the house.  Bart decided to get up and check on me but still did't really think I was in labor.  He told me to go take a bath and he went back to bed.  After my bath I decided I needed to wake Bart up and get him moving.  I started packing things up while Bart called the hospital.  They told us to head to the hospital immediately.  I called mom and dad to come stay with Kyra until she woke up.  I still think that Bart thought the hospital would send us home so he wasn't in too big of a hurry.  When we got to the hospital I was 7 centimeters and completely thinned out.  That's when things started moving quickly.  Bart called to tell our parents the news.  The nurses got me ready to go and quickly went over the c-section procedures.  They wheeled me to the operating room and started to do a spinal.  It didn't take them long to figure out that it wasn't going to work and I was going to have to "go to sleep."  I remember them telling me I was going to get sleepy, blinking twice, and that is it.  The next thing I remember is waking me to tell me that I had a baby boy!!  They wheeled me back to my room where I met Bart and the baby.  We spent a few minutes together before he went to get Kyra.  All of this happened before 9:30!  Things have been going really well and both of us are doing great.  I was really dreading the unknown, but it has been good so far.  It was quick and I don't remember much of anything.  It might just be the way to go!  Anyway, Baby Ryder is getting circumsized currently and I needed something to fill my time.  Here are a few pictures of our first days together.

We'll have to work on a better family picture later!

This picture of Tate and Ryder is just too cute

Zoo Trip

I had quite an extensive list of things that I wanted to get accomplished this summer.  The final thing that I wanted to do was to take Kyra to the zoo.  Since Bart works on Saturdays and we are running out of time before the baby arrives, we decided to go on Sunday.  It was pretty hot, but we had a great time.  We got to watch the dolphin show, feed the giraffe, pet the sharks, and see lots and lots of animals.  Kyra says her favorite animal was the lion because he looked like Simba from the Lion King.  Bart enjoyed the tigers.  He had on orange and white stripes and the lion did not care for that.  Every time Bart would come up to the window, the tiger would charge at us.  He even started gnawing on the wood to try to get out.  I think Bart was a little scared!!  All in all it was a fun time and a nice time with just Kyra before the baby comes!

Baby Leman

Here is a new picturs of Baby Leman.  Unfortunately, I had to have an ultrasound this last week because the baby is breech.  I am currently scheduled for a C section on August 2 unless the baby decides to flip.  I am nervous and disappointed, but I know it is what is best for the baby.  We just want a healthy baby!!  Again, the baby was being stubborn and the tech couldn't get a great picture.  She was trying to get a 3D shot, but we must be having a stubborn baby!  Must be the Leman in him or her!

It's "potty" time!

I think that I can officially say that Kyra is diaper free....well for the most part.  It's been a bit of a challenge and has tested my patience, but I think I can successfully say that we met this goal for the summer.  She still has accidents every once in awhile, but the last couple of weeks she has done really well.  We are still putting a pull up on her at night, but for the most part, it has been dry!!  We are excited that we will be diaper free for a couple of weeks!

I am going to the doctor once a week now and the reality is starting to set in that we are going to be a family of 4!  Bart and I went camping with our friends this weekend.  We had a really good time, but I was glad to be home to see Kyra and to be rid of my cankles.  There is nothing like AC and an elevated bed!  Well I better get busy packing my bags and getting out everything we need for Baby Leman!
